Freightcom Online Shipping Declared Value Insurance for Carriage Certificate Terms & Conditions Definitions: (Freightcom): The facilitator of Declared Value Insurance between the Shipper and Insurer. (INS:): The insurance company (Liberty International Insurance Company through WK Webster & Co.). (Insured): The Shipper with Declared Value Coverage for Carriage Insurance. (Shipping Carrier): The Company that is transporting the shipments covered by this Certificate. (Total Declared Value:): Goods and/or merchandise and/or property insured hereunder shall be valued at: COST. Duty and/or taxes are not insurable under this policy. Coverage Terms
Insuring Conditions
Subject to all its terms and conditions, this policy insures against all risks of physical loss or damage from any external cause. Exclusion Clause Geographical Limits At, from and between ports and/or places in the World to ports and/or places in the World, excluding shipments to/from Belarus, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Cuba, Egypt, Eritrea, Guinea- Bissau, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Liberia, Myanmar (Burma), Nigeria, North Korea, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen and Zimbabwe. Sanction Limitation and Exclusion Clause : No (re)insurer shall be deemed to provide cover and no (re)insurer shall be liable to pay any claim or provide any benefit hereunder to the extent that the provision of such cover, payment of such claim or provision of such benefit would expose that (re) insurer to any sanction, prohibition or restriction under United Nations resolutions or the trade or economic sanctions of Canada, the United States of America, the European Union and United Kingdom. Goods/Commodities: The following conditions apply to all approved shipments accordingly: 1. General Merchandise (NEW, USED and REFURBISHED) Good(s) that are classified as General Merchandise (NEW, USED and REFURBISHED) are subject to the following: Subject to a $100 deductible any one accident or occurrence with no subrogation of the initial $100 from the carrier. If the goods are Used/Refurbished, the following conditions also apply:
2. Fragile goods (i.e. Glass, Ceramics, Marble, Granite, Tiles, Pottery and other similar breakables)
3. Electronics (including but not limited to TVs, Audio/Visual Equipment, etc.)/ Laptops/ Cellphones/ Pdas/ iPads/ Tablets/ Notebooks and Gaming Systems
If the goods are used, the following also applies:
4. Good(s) that are classified as Furniture / Signs / Lights and Lighting Equipment / Copiers and Printers incl. accessories
If the goods are used, the following also applies:
5. Antiques, Artwork and Collectables
6. All Other Interests

Referred Commodities These commodities may be insured under the program but need to go through a vetting process before coverage will be granted. Work with your Freightcom representative to request a quote for coverage on the below commodities: Furs/Skins and Taxidermy Claims Handling Claims should only be submitted for missing or damaged shipments. If your shipment is missing, please ensure to start an investigation with customer service at customercare@freightcom.com before submitting a claim. Please follow the steps below to submit a claim on the Freightcom system. 1. Log-in at www.freightcom.com 2. Select Track Shipments from the Track tab and enter the BOL, Trans # or tracking number under "Shipment Look Up" and click "Submit" 3. Once your shipment details load, please select "Submit Claim" on the right hand side of the screen 4. Be sure to enter all details including the total value of the goods shipped, the value of the damaged or missing goods, a description of the goods and any relevant notes for the claim including a description of the damage. Once this information has been entered, click "Save Claim" at the bottom 5. Please upload a cost invoice for the missing or damaged goods, this would be the invoice showing the cost of the goods from the supplier or manufacturer, not the invoice for the sale between you and the receiver. Some carriers may also request a copy of the sales invoice during the claim processing period at their discretion 6. For damage claims, please also upload pictures showing damage to both the packaging and to the goods 7. If you have purchased Freightcom Insurance, you will also need to upload a statement of (non) repairability. This should be written on the letterhead of the manufacturer, supplier or a repair company stating whether or not the goods can be repaired. If they can be repaired, please include a repair estimate. If the goods cannot be repaired, please include a brief statement on why- for example: the repair estimate is higher than the cost to replace the goods, due to the nature of the goods the items cannot be repaired, etc. As the Freightcom customer if you produce the goods or re-sell them, this letter can be on your letterhead Please note: Please do not dispose of your original packaging or damaged goods so the carrier may complete any necessary inspection and/or salvage. |
